On April 17 at Kye's II in Jeffersonville, Indiana, ROCK will hold it's third DefendMyCommunity press conference beginning at 10 a.m. and promptly ending by 10:30. The press conference will formally unveil the billboard located at the intersection of I-65 and Veterans Parkway. This event will focus on the threat pornography and the sex industry pose to our most precious and vulnerable citizens - our children. You will hear first hand from a former Assistant United States Attorney, who prosecuted obscenity and child exploitation cases for nearly 20 years, about the role pornography plays in harming children, including for predators and those that would harm our children. You will hear testimony from three convicted predators about how pornography fueled an addiction that resulted in acting out and harming children. They did this in the hope that others will understand why pornography is such a threat and decided to stand against the sex industry and keep future generations of children from being hurt.
We are particularly enthusiastic about this upcoming press conference and believe it will far surpass the prior events based on the response we already are receiving. Each billboard/conference has addressed the various ways in which the sex industry harms our families, exploits women and children and negatively impacts our communities as a whole. We have engaged the business, civic, political and faith communities in this campaign, demonstrating that these issues transcend all boundaries and impact all segments of our region.
