Knowing Becky Skillman

Not too often do I get to write about something like this...

The picture was taken from the Indianapolis Star's website. It is a picture of Lt. Gov Becky Skillman at Indiana Nt'l Guardsman Sgt. Joseph A. Ford funeral down in Evansville Tuesday.

She is hugging Karen Ford, Sgt. Ford's widow.

Some politicians love photo op's. Any opportunity to have their picture taken, they jump at. And you can tell by looking at the photo, how sincere they are.

Becky Skillman isn't one for a photo op. Nor would she take advantage of a situation to make herself look good to members of the media.

This picture shows Becky Skillman's true sincerity. From some previous conversations and the blogger's sit down earlier this week, I have learned that Skillman loves this state.

Her emotion in this picture shows that the loss of Sgt. Ford has also touched her as well.

This is the type of leader we need in this state. I can see why Mitch Daniels picked her to help him lead Indiana in a new direction.
