A few notes from last night

Just some follow up from my notes from the blogger sitdown last night with Lt. Gov Skillman...

Indiana's Job Growth:

  • Indiana is experiencing job growth throughout the state; 67,000 new jobs
  • Indiana is #1 in all of North America in all new foreign productions jobs. 14,000 of the 67,000 new jobs are foreign production jobs
Numbers like that are hard to argue. Mitch and Becky Skillman have been actively working for Indiana.

Skillman talked about a preview of what is to come in the next Session:
  • a look at privatizing the Hoosier Lottery and education
  • Mitch will be pursuing "full funding" for full day kindergarten
  • second passage of the property tax amendment to be on the ballot in 2010
More of their agenda will be released in the next thirty days.

All in all, last night was a great opportunity.
And I would like to thank the Lt. Governor's staff for including me.
