Comments from the Lt. Gov
Upcoming events for the next four years...
- Several bills to be introduced for discipline in schools (yeah!!)
- $$ in instruction, not construction for schools
- Second passage for an amendment to the State's Constitution for property tax relief
- Keeping the State's fiscal health growing
When asked about the "new Demmies" in the State, Skillman was asked if they are worried about the number increase?
"Hoosier voters tend to be independent (of Parties). I think Hoosiers are accustomed to taking one race at a time."
When asked why Mitch and Skillman endorsed Jon Costas for Attorney General?
Jon Costas "brings geographic bounds to the state wide ticket". They want to make sure every area of the state is represented.
Thinking about running for Governor in four years?
"I don't know." Skillman said five years from now is a long time away.
On the challenges of the property tax cap:
"We are entering into a new area of property tax restraint. Each new town and county government will have to start thinking different moving forward."
